A little while back someone requested an avatar from me with Snake-Eyes' sword in it. At that time, I had no idea who this guy was and this scene was the first thing that came to mind... Because of the extreme perspective - and since the guy who requested it was still asleep anyway - I decided to try out some depth of field. It came out nicely, I'd say, even if it shot render times up like mad.
So yeah, just a quick model. I have to admit, I need to do backgrounds more often from now on, they add a lot to a model.
(Oh, and I've done research to who the guy was since then. Now I know. And knowing is half the battle!)
PS: The image used for the table was taken from the Wikipedia article on craps.
I've since found a higher quality image of the table (Which remind me... I need to state the sourrce for it) and am currently doing a high quality render with more passes to take care of those lines, but it'll take a few hours at least before it's done...

There, all fixed. Also tinkered with the textures a bit and slightly decreased the size to take care of a few pixelation issues (Even the larger craps table image caused some minor pixelation)
Thanks again for the input :3

if you want brushed metal and your using 3ds max, i suggest you tinker with a setting in the render dialogue called global ray antialiaser (thats if using scanline render)
or add a metal (lume) map into the reflect slot and tinker with that (add a lume glass to opacity if you want blurred glass) if using mental ray
personally i prefer mental ray lume, it gives a better effect, has many other options, and ive found can usually get the same result as the ray antialiaser in faster time
note either way WILL slow down renders, but i consider anything under an hour per frame to be really fast these days (ive switched to vray renderer its VERY VERY good, but slow)

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

The texture on the table looks a bit pixelated, especially near the bottom of the picture, so I'd recommend using a higher resolution.
The top of the sword has something funky going on, looks almost line scan lines or interlacing, probably some glitch with the depth of field.
