Artist's Comments

"The Thermonator weapon system is a highly sophisticated series of equipment. It uses some of the most advanced technology on the field. A PER fission generator, four Thermal Splitters and a class 4 Collapsed Space Container that holds an enormous amount of H²O. As soon as the weapon is triggered, usually by impact, a great amount of this water is released through the jets on the side. The Thermal Splitters then spring to life, siphoning heat from a small amount of water injected into them from a side system until absolute zero has been reached. The resulting Bose-Einstein condensate is the sprayed out in powder form mere moments after the water is released, instantly freezing it. The siphoned heat is then used on a second dose of water, creating plasma that is circulated in the system itself, heating it and thereby allowing it to be withdrawn from the created ice crystal by melting a small portion of it.

It also has a secondary mode where no regular water is released, using only the weapon's freezing attributes; at the first strike, at least. The plasma is saved up for the second strike and is released instead of circulated. This causes extreme temperature changes and the freezing tends to cause fragility in anything it hits, allowing it to go through many kinds of armor in two or three solid hits.

The Thermonator Hammer is the most popular of the many varieties. While a ranged system is more practical, many can't resist the strange combination of sophisticated systems and a barbaric weapon, which creates an unmatched 'aura'. Or as some costumers put it 'unrivalled bad-assness'. Naturally, the hammer comes with a protective suit that protects the wearer from the extreme temperatures around the weapon and with in-built heaters that are regularly required."

A quick model made for a contest for :iconweaponry-guild: The theme was 'Ice'. Had a lot of fun making this one.

Thats 1 sexy hammer dude. Nice modelling too

Who needs C4? We have Thermonators! =D
Nice job man.

Well, C4 DOES explode nicely...
...
Hmmm, Thermonator explosives...
Collapsed Space Container rupture plus a huge long-running Thermal Splitter, freezing all of the water and using the heat in a reaction to form an explosion, pounding into all the now more fragile materials around and bombarding anything out of range with large chunks of ice...
I think we're on to something here.

I actualy meant: "Who needs C4 if we can beat it with a thermonator?" But your way works too. Ever better as to say so.

Congrats on winning the comp.

Thanks, though it wasn't much this time with us being the only participants. :P And it'd have been a lot harder to win if you'd been able to finish your weapon, no doubt.

Oh, I figured that much. I just think explosions are pretty.

We could always combine it, of course. First freezing someone, then laugh at them as they can do nothing while you plant some C4 right on their FACE =D

What about freezing them, then break a leg off, and thawing them? I'd say that hurts (if you survive the freezing process).

Ooooh, or slowly crushing tiny bits of their body with a small hammer. You'd have to try and freeze their body, but not their head somehow, so you can watch them stare in horror as they see their body being destroyed, yet being unable to stop or even feel it. Then as they start thawing the slowly start feeling how much damage was done. And THEN, just before they bleed to death, you cover them in C4, throw them off a building and let them explode just before hitting the ground.
...
I have issues, don't I?
